The countdown begins to Paducah International Raceway’s Season Opener

Paducah International Raceway is gearing up for the 2007 season opener sponsored by Dean Owen CPA/ Super Tax and Sanders Kubota of Mayfield.

Just four days away, the 2007 season at PIR is filled with events to please everyone. Three NASCAR Night of Stars will be held once again at PIR with the first Night of Stars sponsored by Harrah’s Metropolis Casino & Hotel. PIR Co-Owners Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be appearing. An autograph session will take place before the race.

New on the schedule for 2007 at PIR will be the return of the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series on Friday April 6th. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series features 2006 Champion Donny Schatz, 20-Time World of Outlaw Champion Steve Kinser, Danny “the dude” Lasoski, Minnesota native Craig Dollanski and many more. The WoO Sprinters are expected to race at top speeds well over 100 miles per hour on the high-banks of PIR.

A championship rodeo has been scheduled for the weekend of July 28th, and the first ever Miss PIR will be crowned on June 22nd. Popular fan favorites back on the calendar for 2007 will be the Faster Pastor and Wiener Dog races.

The USA World 50 presented by Knuckle Busters returns on August 24th immediately after the third and final NASCAR Night of Stars presented by Bryant Law Center on August 21st the World of Outlaws Late Model tour stops by PIR on September 14th.

Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night with the gates opening at 5pm with racing beginning at 7:30. UMP Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and CARS Crate Late Models compete on the 3/8th mile high-banks while Outlaw Mini-Sprints and the Wild 4-Cylinder Warriors race on the action packed 1/5th mile.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the tri of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night and is located of Interstate-24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky.
