ok mike... just announce at the midget races, then!!!! no fights at midget races!!! lol.

Hey Mike,
How about a fundraising boxing match?? :D You can be the ring announcer and we can match up drivers that don't like each other. When the bell rings to say it is over then the issue is dead. Then we can all live happily ever after and see some racing.

dirtracin22, ever been to a midget race?? obviously not. CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG????????????????

Mike mabe you hit the nail on the head possiable all UMP tracks need a red trailer or at least a place for the drivers to cool off , some one designated to be the go between. moderator if you please, at any rate UMP should inforse the fine rule but they should add a time out for fighting like two or three weeks of no points as well as the fine, and as for mr Heck or his crew had no business in Mark's pit.

Guys........

Mike Meurer is the Dave Despain of wisdom in St. Louis. Listen to Mike.

You have to think of the entire sport, not just a few moments of one evening. Also the stock car community, through their caring for Jacob, earned some really nice publicity for their good deeds.........note your racing didn't get you that coverage. We dislike it when the only part of racing that gets coverage is the wrecks........do you want local sports fans to think that the only thing St. Louis racers are known for is their fighting at the track because that is what they read in the papers or hear/see in a broadcast? It will leave a more lasting memory for those outside the sport than your generosity to Jacob will.

Robbie McGehee is running his 5th Indy 500 this weekend. The first year he attended the Banquet of Champions he was floored by the amount of racing there is in St. Louis that was represented in that room. Why? Because all he knew, and this is the 1999 Indy 500 Rookie-of-the-Year, was what he had read in the paper about racing (which obviously wasn't much). He didn't know about ALL the racing there really is in St. Louis. Your racing accomplishments aren't getting the recognition they deserve, but just ONE fight can (and, no doubt, WILL) attract more publicity than you'd ever dream about and it won't be the publicity you really want or need.

The St. Louis racing community is in a unique position.......every end of the sport in this area features racers, wrenches, and promoters who are among the "cream of the crop" in their respective fields. Stand up and act like leaders and show people the civil way to handle disagreements.

Also.......here's your yearly reminder.............

What is said on this message board can be used in a court of law, will stand up, and is admissable. I personally check with a lawyer once a year on this because I am concerned about the image this message board projects worldwide of St. Louis racing. Are you projecting the image/perception/view of our racing that you want the world to see?

Wow all this talk about the negative things that happend at B-town and knowbody has said a thing about what a great show it was. We beat mother nature somehow , had an excellent field of cars in LM and Modifieds, that was two and three wide. But yet fighting is major topic. There must be a lot of WWF fans on here.

by the way southend your right it was great racing but so was the fight that voight proceeded on fighting in i think they should of went in the infeild in front of the stands and got it on then shake hands get in there cars go to the back of the pack and go racing................................................................. but in the future if i had my pick between good racing or great fights id go with the great racing so melvin voight pick up your lips **** it up and come back and go racing we love it hey southend by the way its the wwe now :D

Well said Eileen, even though I think more highly of TTG than Mr. Despain (LOL). I can tell you all that St. Louis-area race fans have no earthly idea how good they have it! Having been stationed all over the United States and away from Stl for the past 17 or so years I can confidently say there is no better racing community than that of the Stl area; many tracks, very talented drivers, for the most part the most dedicated fans and the best sanctioning body with UMP. Don't believe me? Just move away and find out how bad you truly miss it, that's why I'll drive 3.5 hours back Stl way just to see a weekly show when I get the chance! Don't get too caught up in the feuding stuff guys/gals, enjoy what's right in front of your very eyes!
