The "O" Show Continues to Roll On as Jimmy Owens Wins at West Virginia Motor Speedway

MINERAL WELLS, WV (September 16, 2007)-The hottest driver in dirt late model racing rolled through the field on Saturday Night at West Virginia Motor Speedway as Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN picked up a convincing victory as he brought home the $20,000 to win Annual "RaceFest World Championship" for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. It was Owens' fifth Lucas Oil Series win of the season as he came from the 12th starting spot inheriting the lead from Bart Hartman who had led the first 30 laps of the 75 lap main event after the rear end on Hartman's car failed. Owens then went on to dominate the rest of the race in his Mike Reece owned Bloomquist Race Cars #20.

Scott Bloomquist, the defending race winner finished second followed by Earl Pearson Jr., 15th starting Mike Balzano and Tim McCreadie. Pearson now holds a 230 point lead over Scott James with two series points races left in the season.

Michael England finished sixth followed by Scott James, Eddie Carrier Jr., Donnie Moran and Steve Casebolt.

In preliminary action Earl Pearson Jr. topped the 47 car field in LifeLong Locks Time Trials with a quick lap of 20.01 seconds around the 5/8ths mile track. Bart Hartman, Tim McCreadie, Donnie Moran and Scott James won the Hawk Brake and Quarter Master Heat Races with Steve Lucas and Davey Johnson capturing the Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks B-Mains.

The 2007 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will wrap up on Friday and Saturday, October 5th and 6th. On Friday Night the $10,000 to win "Rome Rumble" will take place at Rome International Speedway in Rome, GA followed the next night by the "Dixie Shootout" at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA with a top prize of $15,000 up for grabs.
