(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James Motorsports had an up and down weekend this past weekend. Scott took his Baylor Trucking / Powell Motorsports #83 BRC Lazer G-2 Monte Carlo to the Battle of the Bluegrass Series events at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday night and Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY the following night. Both BOB-sanctioned events paid the winner $3,000 for his efforts. The weekend wrapped up on Sunday, where Scott made an appearance at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in nearby Lawrenceburg, IN.

The weekend got off on a good note, as Scott won his heat at Ponderosa Speedway and ran a strong second in the feature event. At Bardstown on Saturday, Scott started his heat race from the third row and was battling for the second place spot when he cut a tire, ending his chance at making the event through the heat. He had to start at the tail of the consolation event and was hoping to get a BOB provisional, but two drivers ahead of him in points failed to make the show also, which left Scott watching the main event instead of competing in it. Sunday at Lawrenceburg was not much better for Scott James Motorsports. They were running second in their heat race when a yellow came out and the leader abruptly slowed and Scott could not avoid making contact with him. The team decided to load up after the heat race and forego trying to make the feature through the consolation event.

“We had a decent weekend, but our car was much, much better than the results,” said Scott on Monday. “We ran second at Ponderosa and I think we had one of the fastest, if not the fastest car at Bardstown during the heats. It is a shame that I cut down that tire and we couldn’t get in on provisional. I think I could have came from the tail and put on a good show for the fans. Then at Lawrenceburg, the leader checked up hard in that heat race and I was right behind him and couldn’t get on the binders quick enough to avoid hitting him. We tore up quite a bit of stuff and decided to load up for the night.”

“The Silver Shark” will next be in action at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH this Saturday night for a $2,000 to win ALMS show. Scott has had some impressive runs this year at Eldora and hopes to have another one this Saturday night. For more information on this event, log on to http://www.eldoraspeedway.com.
