(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James Motorsports is trying to rebound from a tough Speedweeks 2004, as they have just returned to Indiana following an eight-race stretch of racing action at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL. The Baylor Trucking / Powell Motorsports #83 BRC Lazer G-2 / Rhodes Monte Carlo was only able to qualify for two events, although he narrowly missed transferring into most of the events that he missed. The new World of Outlaw Late Model Series sanctioned the first four events that Scott competed in, with the last four events being ran under the UMP banner. Scott’s best performance came in the $12,000 WoO finale where he hustled the #83 to a 13th place finish. His nightly finishes from Volusia are as follows:

Scott had this to say about his stay in Florida. “Our car just didn’t run as good as it needed to in the mud and the track was heavy most of the nights. The two races I made were nights that it slicked off pretty good there and you could race around on it. The track surface was completely different this year then what everybody was used to and we just could not our car as good as it needed to be. We tore our equipment up a couple of nights and we decided to come home a little early and skip the final two nights. We will go over our cars and get them ready for the races when they start back up in our area.”
Tentatively, Scott is planning on attending the WoO Late Model Series race on March 12-13 at Atomic Motor Speedway in Knoxville, TN.
