June Depew, 82, of Vandalia, died at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown, with the Rev. Darrel Brandon officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, and one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the church. Burials will be in Griffith Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Memorials: Friends & Families of Fayette County Hospital and/or American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Depew was born on July 4, 1922, in Wells, Mich., the daughter of Joseph and Anna Marie (Benoit) Gardner. She married Carl Sherman Depew on May 29, 1947, in Escanaba, Mich. He died on March 31, 1990.

She was a registered nurse for 47 years, working at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church of rural Brownstown, and Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary and Vandalia Woman's Club, both of Vandalia.

She is survived by sons, Charles and his wife Kathy Depew of Brownstown, and Carl and his wife Dee Depew of Vandalia; daughters, Carol and her husband Ron Davidson of Creston, and Shirley Depew and her friend Ralph of Farina; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Linda Brinkmeyer; two grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.
