O-Great surfer of the dirt, We eagerly await your pearls of wisdom on the proceedings of Friday past. So Git-er-done, we all eagerly await !thoughts!

 I wish I could have seen the races. From my view , I hated to see cars get damaged, including my own, but thats racing. Still, it must have been some great racing for the fans. Also I wish we could schedule our races so that we could watch the heat race that we are not in. I never get to see any of the races. Some might say I have the best seat of all from inside the car but I don't see much except whats right in front of me. I would really like to watch the cars run------oh jr. come here jr. your turn :)

Sorry I wasn't too social Friday night... I wasn't feeling well at all. We worked on our pool all week and I think I was somewhere in the middle of hypothermia, pnuemonia, and exhaustion. Cheryl W. can attest to me being numb in the brain after asking her which of her brothers was supposed to be there...(I haven't met any of them, but was going to help her look for him anyhow...LOL) All is well now, though, and it didn't require antibiotics...:)

Dave, here are my "pearls"...lol

Tips to seeing the show...
1) If you are in a slower car, you run the first heat. ;)This allows you to get back to your pit, jump on a 4 wheeler and head back to the track for the next heat. I made it to the infield as you all were going down the backstretch on the pace lap...whew!!!...enabling me to see the 2nd heat!

2)Drive slower than everyone else in that heat... ;)That way, You'll fall to the back of the race, ensuring that you get to see the race you're in!:)

3) Drive slow in the main too(see tip #2). :eek:Then when the cars get strung out around the track...spin out! :rolleyes:After doing so, You'll have NO EXCUSE for missing ANY of the events! LOL:D

Hopefully, next time we run DRR I will have the 283 back under the hood. The boat anchor 350 that's in the car now is really eatin' some nerves. It is definitely getting disassembled and rebuilt for next year... I'm smellin' flat tops and a camshaft, minimum...Bone stock, .060 over and a worn flat cam ain't cutting it.

I was looking forward to making it to B'Ville this time around, but I'll be somewhere between here and the Smokey Mt's... We are going to Pigeon Forge TN that week for vacation and I won't be back in time to race. I am hoping to maybe get to Highland on Sat.

I was happy to see the turnout we had at DRR. I know that DRR is my home track, but it is pretty much the GVRA's home track too. Bobby has treated us very well there, and there are a lot of Vintage car fans there too. Next time we are there, we need to go above and beyond... DRR is hurting financially as you all have probably read by now. We need to help do something that night to show the track and it's fans how important they are to us. We need like lots of shirts, several autographed items, whatever we can do to help. Hell, I'll give rides til everyone's had one if need be... The track is on a limited schedule now till the end of the season, so the remaining scheduled shows need to be the best they can to help DRR get back on its feet and keep our crowd coming back.
