So NA$CAR is undoing one of their many mistakes this weekend and returning the Southern 500 to Darlington on Labor Day weekend. Many of the cars in Cup and Xfinity series are sporting throwback paint schemes. I like best the Stenhouse tribute to David Pearson's Holman-Moody #17 Fords, but there are some other very cool designs.

What schemes would you like to see if the local racers had the funds to make a throwback tribute? Mike Hammerle races his every week! Dandy Don Kleins' #28 and Wib Spaulding's #444 should be on everyone's list. Schrader's #100, Russ Wallace's #6, CC Corbin's #27 with Snoopy along for the ride on the roof panel ...

What are your nominations?

Super fly B7
Dixons black 50 with gold numbers
Kenny S seiviking 2 thunderbird
Doug Klein Burger King car
Jeff johns Kshe car
Tom Utleys 18u
Gundakers blue petroff car with wind tunnels

There are a couple of Gremlins, one is Hammerle's old car over in Belleville and the other was built recently by one of the Buckleys and won a feature the last time we raced at Tri City.
I sold Sellers Flying Duece a couple of years ago and it was in Festus.

Yes Gundakers deep blue Petroff modified with the screaming yellow interior was a piece of work. Man that thing was fast.
