Thunderstorms Shorten Macon Speedway Night

(Macon, IL) Thunderstorms forced Macon Speedway to close their gates shortly after they were opened tonight. Fans and racers who arrived early will be able to use their tickets and wristbands as rain checks next week for the regular race on June 2 – Barbeck Communications Modifeds Bonanza Night.

Kids Box Car races have been postponed until June 2. Kids will be able to see Quacky the Clown on Monday, May 28 when he returns to Macon Speedway for the Night of NASCAR Stars. The Wynn’s Mile Qualifier for the Hogan Grain/Kubota Sportsman has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 16.

Race fans will not want to miss the Night of NASCAR Stars on Monday, May 28 featuring Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader. Seats are still available for purchase at the gate. Adult tickets are $25. Children 12 and under are $5. Gates will open at 3:00 PM. An autograph session will take place from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM and racing starts at 6:30 PM. Bowyer, Harvick, Wallace, and Schrader will all be racing on the fast Macon 1/5 mile. Nothern All Stars Late Model Series and UMP Modifieds are on the card for Monday night.

NASCAR Stars Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Tony Stewart and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Macon Speedway in January of 2007.
