The remainder of the top ten at the finish would be Harold Redman, Jr., Shon Flanery, Aaron Hatton, Arnie Fields, and Mike Jewell. The $5,000 would be 50 laps in distance and be slowed by 8 caution periods.

The first three attempted starts of the race would all be called back due to multi-car spins. Once action finally went green, Larry Gray would leap to the top spot, followed by D.J. Wells, Tim Tungate, John Gill, and Aaron Hatton. The caution would wave on lap 2 as Eric Wells and Jason Edge would tangle in, resulting in Edge suffering a flat tire and Rod Evans would also pull pitside at this point. The restart would see Tungate take second, moving D.J. Wells back to third. As Gray and Tungate would begin to duel for the top spot, caution would wave again on lap 6 as Chris Combs would roll to a stop in turn three. Back underway, Hatton would take the fourth spot from Gill, as Gray and Tungate renewed their battle at the point.

Business would really pick up at the point as Tungate turned the heat up on Gray on lap 12 and Tungate would grab the race lead two trips later on lap 14, with D.J. Wells, Hatton, and Gill going third through fifth. Tungate would get some breathing room as Wells, Hatton, and Gill began to challenge Gray by lap 18. Distaster would strike for Gray, Gill, and Hatton as the trio would tangle battling for position on lap 20, with Gray and Gill finished for the night.

The caution would wave two more times for failed restart attempts before action resumed, with Brandon Kinzer rolling to second by way of the double-file restart, followed by D.J. Wells, Chris Combs, and Eric Wells. Combs would take third on lap 21, with Lee rolling to fifth on the same circuit. Eric Wells would retake third on lap 22 from Combs, and it would be a trio of cars sporting the number 18 as Tungate, Kinzer, and Eric Wells held the top three spots, with Eric Wells driving past Kinzer for the runner-up slot on lap 29.

Harold Redman, Jr. would start to move and would make his way into the top five on lap 32, as Wells started to pressure Tungate for the top spot, with Kinzer still in third. Tungate and Wells would settle into an entertaining battle for the lead, while further back in the pack, David Webb and Tyrel Todd were starting to move toward the front by lap 40.

Tungate and Wells would battle wheel-to-wheel on lap 41, with Wells nosing ahead of Tungate at the finish line on lap 42, only to have Tungate retake the top spot on lap 43. Wells would slow on lap 45, ending a superb run and allowing Kinzer to go to second, with Webb now into the top five for the first time in the race. Webb would pass Redman, Jr. for the fourth spot on lap 47, as Kinzer attempted to mount a charge on Tungate. Todd would scoot into the top five on lap 49 with a pass of Redman, Jr., but Tungate would see the checkered flag first, followed by Kinzer, Combs, Webb, and Todd.
