CARTERSVILLE, GA – Trak Star Race Cars manufactured by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL has signed on as an associate sponsor of the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series for 2007. Trak Star Race Cars will compete for the 2007 StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Championship.

Boland Performance will also award a Trak Star chassis to a top StormPay.com Dirt Late Model competitor from either the National Tour, or the Weekly Racing Series at the annual Awards Banquet.

“We really like what the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series is doing for the sport with both the National Tour and the Weekly Racing Series,” Boland Performance Owner Mike Boland said. “They have created new opportunities for competitors to get involved in dirt late model racing at an economical price.”

The engines for the dirt late models competing with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series are GM Performance Crate Engines. They are built and sealed at the factory to prevent competitors from making any expensive modifications.

The GM Performance Crate engines are shipped to GM Dealers throughout the country, and are readily available to be picked up and placed in the race car the same day. The aluminum-head 400 horsepower 604 engine sells for right at $5,000, and the steel-head 350 horsepower 602 engine sells for right at $3,000. The 602 engine also gets a 150-pound weight break.

The crate engine concept of everyone having the same engine puts more emphasis on the race car chassis and its set up.

Boland, a seven-time Mississippi State Dirt Late Model Champion, will run a limited schedule on the National Tour driving one of his own Trak Star chassis for Ware Motorsports. Boland posted one win last season on the StormPay.com DLMS National Tour at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

“Mike Boland has been one of the top dirt late model competitors in the nation for many years, and we’re excited to have him and Trak Star Race Cars involved with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series,” StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series President of Operations and Communications Roby Helm said. “Trak Star Race Cars has had a lot of success since it was introduced last season, and we’re looking forward to helping Mike promote them this season.”

Trak Star Race Cars joins the defending StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion Mastersbilt Race Cars, defending StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars, Warrior Race Cars, TNT Race Cars, and C.J. Rayburn Race Cars in the 2007 Chassis Manufacturers Challenge.
