Granite City, IL -- Tri-City Speedway is pleased to announce the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers as its marketing partner of the Dodge Racing Series for 2004 featuring the Ironman Late Models.
Utilizing UMP rules and car specifications for Dirt Late Models, engines in the Ironman Late Model Division will be restricted to cast iron blocks with one spark plug and two valves per cylinder. Any two or four-barrel carburetor will be allowed using alcohol or racing gasoline. Tires will be Hoosier LM provided by Hoosier Racing Tire Midwest.

"By allowing only cast iron blocks our competitors will share a level playing field and maintain their investment in the engines currently in use," Tri-City Promoter Bob Wente, said. "The Ironman Late Model division will also provide an opportunity for Modified drivers to move up to the Dirt Late Model division by using their current Modified engines."

All Dodge Racing Series events, including Sportsmen, UMP-style Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks, will be contested on Tri-City's lightning-fast quarter-mile speedway with the Ironman full field main events paying $750 to win.

Test 'n Tune is scheduled for Thursday, April 1 with the Ironman Late Model Division taking their inaugural green flag Saturday, April 3.
