Tri-City Speedway Ready To "Grab Life By the Horns"

Granite City, IL - Tri-City Speedway will open the 2004 Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Racing Series on Saturday, April 3.
Headlining the racing card will be the "Ironman" Late Models, cars which align with the United Midwest Promoters (UMP) Late Model specifications and are restricted to cast iron engine blocks. The racing action also includes Sportsmen, Modifieds Street Stocks and Factory Stocks on the quarter-mile dirt oval every Saturday night.

The 2004 season features a full menu of special events that begins Saturday night, May 15 with the first of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series dates. Tri-City Speedway has planned "Summer Sundays" and brings the O'Reilly Mid America Racing Series (MARS) Late Models on Fathers' Day, June 20. The UMP Summer Nationals on Sunday evening, July 11 and the new World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Sunday evening, August 1 will hit Tri-City Speedway's lightning-fast half-mile dirt for 40-lap main events that pay $10,000 to win.

"Summer Sundays" will conclude on Sunday evening, Aug. 22 with the Annual "Bob Wente Memorial Midget Classic," which will attract the nation's best open wheel drivers for an impressive event that honors the late Bob Wente, Sr., a legend in Midget racing with 79 wins in 805 United States Auto Club (USAC) starts during his illustrious career. All "Summer Sundays" events begin at 6 p.m.

The Northern All Star Late Models (NALMS) begin their five-race "Illinois Speed Week" at Tri-City Speedway on Wednesday evening, Aug. 11, an event that will match the St. Louis area's best UMP Late Model drivers against the invasion of the best from Indiana and central Illinois.

Saturday night, Oct. 9 will feature the second World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event and complete Tri-City's 2004 special event schedule.

Tri-City Speedway offers a great family value entertainment experience every Saturday night with tickets for the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Racing Series programs just $10.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Students 11-17 and $2.00 for Children 10 and under. Spectator gates open at 6 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. and parking is always FREE. Tri-City Speedway is conveniently located at Interstate 270 and Illinois Route 203 (exit 4).

Tri-City's Test 'n Tune is scheduled for April 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
