Ok I'm confussed after reading all these ppost about Tri-City. Are they runnig on Sunday's and will it be ump?

I hesitate to do this since, even though I just signed up to this message board, I have read it for several months now and have seen what can happen when someone posts an unpopular opinion.

I have noticed all this misunderstanding and rah-rah over G&G Motorsports potential purchase of Tri-City Speedway and what seems to be lukewarm support for the idea of going from a Saturday night operation to a Sunday night operation. I also noticed a lot of questions from board members wondering what’s going to happen to particular classes that weren’t mentioned in the announcement from G&G Motorsports, even though the announcement from Tri-City Speedway quotes Kevin Gundaker as saying there will be no changes.

What I read from the Tri-City announcement, and which is backed up in a recent National Speed Sport News announcement, is that the sale does not officially close until January 7, 2005. I don’t know much but I know what that means: G&G Motorsports has merely put a deposit of some sort down on the Tri-City Speedway property, and will owe something at the closing date. That means, officially, that G&G owns nothing yet and that Mr. Wente still owns the property and will continue to own it until the closing. date.

So all this about G&G Motorsports owns the race track already is putting the cart before the horse.

In my business, I am a business broker and specialize in facilitating, confidentially, the sale of restaurants. That means I take an existing restaurant and broker the sale of it to an interested buyer. There is no deal until the money changes hands at the closing date, deposits notwithstanding. The prospective buyer owns nothing until closing the deal, and the smart buyer keeps his mouth shut about prospective changes until it does change hands, for many obvious reasons.

So it seems there really are no changes now and the speedway plans to operate as it did in the past, with the same classes and rules.

But, your restaurants are not dependent on participants to provide the product. Race tracks need to let racers know as early as possible so that they can plan for the following season. In fact, the current owner stated categorically at the last race of the year the rules would be the same.

Now, with the track changing hands, it is not safe to assume anything any more, certainly concerning rules. And, rules dictate what the racer will or won't build.

You could. Payout for first and second place for one division? Lets say LM's. What would that be? Less than $2000. Have 1500 fans in the stands at 10 bucks a head, and everybody buys a drink. What does that come to? $18000? Profit at least $10000 an event. Now, start adding car counts, (and pit pass money on the plus side, amounting to an increase of $100 a car with a driver and 4 crew) but payout on the minus side. There goes your $10000.

I will take full grandstands with lower car counts before I want higher car counts and no one to watch.

Now, school and work on Monday morning. Still think Sunday night racing will be a success? After most people have been to a track on a Friday or Saturday night already, before TCS even opens the gates?

I don't. But, we shall see. We shall surely see. And you can tell me I am wrong when (if) it flourishes.

In case Cactus Pete doesn't know who G&G Motorsports is , I believe they do know a little bit about the Real Estate business.

You two..dont make us have a "see who can weewee the farthest contest!!" Just kiss and make up..no tongue crap either. Lol

at the auctions i attend that deal is called a pizzing contest, you get 2 bidders on a item (in most cases cars)and the bidder that can pizz the longest wins the bid and gets the item (at usually way more than its actual value) some times a bidder will "run up" the bid in a effort to "stick it to" the other bidder,,of coarse i never would do that!!!
