TT Bone Extreme Karting Midwest Lightning Series adds Jr.3 Clones and makes format changes
As race season draws ever so close and kart teams are preparing for the 2013 race season the TT Bone Extreme Karting Midwest Lightning Series has made some final additions and format changes to the upcoming tour. One of the most notable was the addition to the AKRA Jr 3 Clone Class to the series. There was alot of support behind this class and we hope it is one of our bigger classes in 2013 for the series. It will be AKRA Jr3 Clone rules ages 12 -15, 330 pounds and Blue Plate. After looking at the schedule it was more than evident that a 10 race series was going to just be to gruelling on teams with all the other series, and races in the midwest over the summer this year. So after reviewing all schedules we moved the 10 race series to a 6 race series. Top 5 points night will be scored out of the six. Meaning if one show needs to missed, it can be without harm to your points. The new schedule goes as follows.
April 27 Ealeyville
May 24 Cerro Gordo
June 8 Ealeyville
July 20 K3
August 10 K3
August 30 Cerro Gordo
The ultimate goal of the series was to reward drivers who raced locally in the Midwest. Tony Shoaf aka TT Bone wanted to give back to the drivers who support local racing as well as his karting business. With the addition of so many series, tours, and races that have been added in the Midwest for Regional, and National drivers to attend, the decision was made to adjust the purse. The series points purse in all 4 divisions is now as follows.
1st-$500
2nd-$250
3rd-$150
4th-$100
5th-$75
Trophy to top 3
Nightly payback each nigh (track procedures)
It was a tough decision, but the combination of adding another class and wanting to ensure local teams were rewarded it was a decision that was made. This purse is final and carries a no kart minimum.
The membership fee is only $50 and deadline is April 15th. You can become a member past April 15th but fee will be raised to $75. You can join all the way up until the first race of the series at the late fee rate which is April 27th. After that no memberships will be accepted. We would like to thank everyone for there patience and understanding.
