Todd Tosto Wins Inaugural Super Stick; Kevin Goss Wins Inaugural Super Charge Showdown

Gateway’s Inaugural Friday Night Super Series was a great event that included awesome Jr. Drag Racing action and amazing Super Stick and Supercharged Showdown action.

Tyler Allison won his first Jr. Dragster race at Gateway. Allison who has won at other tracks was excited to get his first win at Gateway. Allison defeated Tommy Heaney in the final round, Heaney, the first year racer, jumps to second in 8-9 class points

Cody “Campete” Jeffs moved into third in Gateway’s 10-12 division by winning the class. “Campete” defeated Austin Vaughn in the final round. Vaughn moves into second in points. Points leader Kelsey Beimfohr was defeated in the Quarterfinal round by “Campete” on his way to the victory.

Bre Royer won her first Jr. Dragster event of the season defeating Britney Pour in the final round. Royer moves into a tie for third in season points and Pour moves into a tie for the lead with their final round appearances.

The first Super Stick winner was Todd Tosto's four-speed 427-inch small block '68 Firebird running 10.50s at over 140 mph. Runner-up was a shocker in Jason Stange's 5-speed '97 Saturn SL from Pacific, MO, running 13.50s at 106 while beating 9 and 10-second cars all night. It was Stange's first bracket race ever!

The Supercharged Showdown had everything from supercharged dragsters and Pro Modifieds to turbo Volvos (!) and a fair amount of breakage (as expected). Kevin Goss won it in his blown small block El Camino over Larry Hagedorn's 10.7-second street-driven blown '70 Monte Carlo. Mike Corneglio made it to the semis in the wife's turbo 350Z! Congrats to Adnan Omerovic for hitting a best-ever 11.08/136 in his turbo Talon.
