EVANSVILLE, IN (January 26, 2004) - United Midwestern Promoters founder and president Bob Memmer was hospitalized in mid-January with a broken pelvis that he sustained in a fall and has faced various complications during his hospitalization and road to recovery. All of us at U.M.P. want to thank the racing community for their outpouring of support and concern regarding Bob's recovery and we know how much your support means to him.

Bob Memmer founded U.M.P. in 1983 with the premise to form a cooperative union of racetracks that utilize with same rules and formats, allowing teams to compete at a variety of tracks without increasing their operational cost. Drivers, promoters and fans welcomed Bob’s vision across North America as U.M.P. now boasts over 4,000 registered drivers and 87 racing venues in seventeen states and Canada. He has been a father figure not only to every one of his drivers but also to the entire dirt racing industry. He continues to enrich this sport and United Midwestern Promoters with his wisdom, experience and unbridled generosity and we wish him a speedy and full recovery so he can return to the sport that he loves.

Get well soon Bob!
