In just over two weeks, on Saturday, April 18th, engines roar to life for the $1,000-to-win 'Spring Challenge' ULMA feature event presented by Pepsi Americas, Columbia and Central Missouri at 24 Raceway in Moberly, Missouri. The track, located 3.5 miles east of US 63 on US 24, is celebrating its 20-year anniversary this season by hosting "Dirt Track Racing at its Best." The speedway itself is a high banked, 4/10th mile clay oval dirt track and this will mark the first appearance by ULMA cars after last year's race was foiled by Mother Nature. The race pays $150 to start with non-qualifiers earning $50. Pit passes are $25 with general grandstand admission just $17, children 12 and under admitted free. The weekly racing excitement featuring A-Mods, B-Mods, Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, and 4-Cylinders are also part of the evening's events. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps begin at 6 p.m. with races starting at 7 p.m. Late model drivers must comply with all ULMA competition rules and possess a 2009 ULMA membership card, which will be available on-site for $50. The entry fee for ULMA competitors is $50. For more information on 24 Raceway visit the official Web site at www.24racewayinmoberly.com or call (660) 269-9300.

Although the Moberly event is the first ULMA special race of the year, Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri actually gets the ULMA season underway next Friday night, April 10th. Callaway Raceway will host the first two ULMA points-earning events of the season and will play host to 23 nights of competition in all during the 2009 race season. In addition, the track recently announced if the regular Friday night program rains out, races will be contested on Sundays, with the exception of next Easter weekend. Complete schedule and detailed information for Callaway Raceway is located at www.callawayraceways.com.

ULMA officials proudly announce the addition of another contingency sponsor for this year's championship battle. Flag2Flag.com and owner Brian Pokorny will provide various special contingency prizes such as a High Definition (HD) Race Cam System, Flag2Flag classified specialty credits, and placement credits to drivers finishing inside the top ten of the final point standings. For complete information regarding the addition of this new contingency business partner and the Race Cam System check out www.flag2flag.com.

Another first for ULMA this year is the participation in the All Missouri Points system, which is managed by Jeff Broeg. This system is just for fun and competition. ULMA drivers will earn points with similar cars such as the CRATE, spec, and limited late model divisions. Points may be tracked at www.positivelyracing.com.

Last year's top 24 in the final point standings automatically return to the 2009 season as paid members as a reward for finishing in the top tier of last year's standings. All other drivers will need to send their annual membership fee of $50 to ULMA, P.O. Box 794, Moberly, MO, 65270 or pay for their 2009 membership on site at special events. Official membership forms are available on-site at ULMA affiliated tracks or by downloading and sending the form in from www.ulmaracing.com.

In addition to weekly racing action at Callaway Raceway, ULMA drivers may earn championship points on Friday nights at Butler Motor Speedway (BMS) in Butler, Missouri. The speedway's Web site is www.butlermotorspeedway.webs.com. Lucas Oil Speedway returns for a third year with ULMA. The "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" located in Wheatland, Missouri, runs on Saturday nights and is found on the Web at www.lucasoilspeedway.com. Late model drivers in the Kansas City Metro can earn points at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri on Saturday nights throughout the season. Valley Speedway's Web site lists all the details at www.valleyspeedway.com. All total there are 74 points-earning opportunities scheduled this season. The final point standings are based on the 15 best finishes of the year for drivers.

In addition to weekly races, ULMA drivers will also take part in special events throughout the year. Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in Warrensburg, Missouri will host ULMA late models on three occasions this season with appearances scheduled during the Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day holiday weekends. ULMA is looking to partner with businesses for the CMS events, association, and other special events; interested parties should call Sam Stoecklin, ULMA board member and CMS track announcer, at (660) 909-1083. Advertising opportunities for the CMS events are available. CMS is found on the web at www.centralmissourispeedway.net.
