Concord, N.C. — June 30, 2009 — UMP DIRTcar Racing announced today it is removing DIRTcar sanctioning from Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway following its recent Summer Nationals event. The track failed to live up to its payment obligations under the sanctioning agreement with DIRTcar Racing.

All drivers who participated in the recent Summer Nationals event at Kankakee County Speedway were paid by UMP DIRTcar Racing and points will be awarded. In addition, prior events where competitors earned points towards UMP DIRTcar championships while under the DIRTcar Racing sanction at Kankakee County Speedway will also be honored.

“It's unfortunate that Doug Judy and Kankakee County Speedway couldn't fulfill their end of the agreement,” said UMP DIRTcar Racing Director Sam Driggers. “They have left us with no choice but to remove them from UMP DIRTcar Racing. We hope they can resolve this issue and return as a DIRTcar Racing partner.”
