Help me understand how this works how do they count points for the week lets say....24 wins fri and griffaw to but sat griffaw wins but not harrison how do they count that for the week ...do they take 2 nights a week the best results of the 2 or what someone please explain cuz Jimmy said sat did not matter in the points this week cuz both 24 and griffaw had their points for the week. how did they get their points for the week already by end of friday? Did they race somewhere during the week then friday?
 
Modifieds get to count their single best finish each week. The week for UMP starts on Monday and ends on Sunday..

Griffaw won on Wednesday at Tri-City.

Harrison won on Friday at Godfrey.

Therefore, they both already had a win before Saturday's action even started. You only count one finish per week (your best finish).
 
ok thanks jimmy my teen had an argument with me and said different but i thought it was your best finish for the week and they each were tied with a win a piece already i won the argument thank you .
 
You are correct they both won their features but Griffaw won his heat and Harrison didn't so they both got their 60 points for the feature but Rusty picked 4 points for winning his heat race and I am pretty sure that Harrison didn't win his heat race at Godfrey.
 
Where Can you View UMP National Point Standings?

Could someone tell me what website has the current UMP national point standings listed? It's not on the umpracing site that I have.....
 
That is the site, but the new listing is not recieved until later in the week. The results for the weekend race go to Evansville, IN from all the tracks and then they are compiled. It takes a few days to get the results totaled up.
 
Points are usually update by Friday of the following week.... The current latest points are from August 9th...

This weeks just ended yesterday. They won't be done updating them until the end of the this week.
 
What if u win a heat one night but dont win the feature, but then on another night u win the feature, but not the heat. Can u mix the points, or do they only take points from one night.
For example ( im not sure if this is even how they score it)
friday night u win the heat and get 4 points, but finsih 2nd in the feature which i think is 53 points. SO that would give u 57.
Then sat night u dont get points from the heat, but u win the feature getting 60 points.
Would u just get the 60 points from the 2nd night, or will they add in your highest heat win to giving u 64 points.

I dont konw if anyone will be able to make sense of this lol.
 
You are awarded the points on the night that you earn them. The track sends in the points for each night that the UMP track has a race.
If someone earns points from a heat then he recieves them and they are added to his total. The first four finishing positions in a heat race earn points - 4 down to 1. They are the same points earned for a dash and semi.
All postions in the feature earn points.
For UMP, they use the best points night of the week. Each event is used and weighed.
No they don't use points from one show to add to another show.
 
Where are current UMP points?

OK guys, thanks for the help with finding the current ump point standings. Problem is, I must be more of a computer dummy than I think, 'cause when I went to the UMP home site and clicked on the "points" icon, the latest points listed for late models is from 2003, and the latest listing for modifieds is from Florida speedweeks. I realize that it takes a while to get them updated every week, but I would think there would be something newer than 2003 on there! Maybe I'm on the wrong website or something.....the one I have is www.umpracing.com I'll be back on here tonite or tomorrow if someone can help, or Mr Dearing can e-mail me at the address I registered with Thank You!
