The UMP Summer Nationals 2004 edition will roll into the Kankakee Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois this evening June 25 for a 40 lap $10,000 to win A-Main event!
After being rained out the previous night at Hartford, Michigan the group is ready to roll again after having a night off.
Going into tonights activities the "Real Deal" Don O'Neal sits atop the Summer Nationals point standings after his win at Kamp Motor Speedway on Wednesday night. O'Neal has 3 top 10 finishes thus far in the series with 1 win. O'Neal has 158 points.
Benton, Kentucky's favorite Son, Terry English sits in second with 3 top 5 finishes all coming by virtue of 4th place finishes. English is credited with 141 points.
Third place is The Moweaqua Missile Shannon Babb who after breaking at Peoria has a 1st and a 2nd to his credit. Babb has 134 points in his account!
Fourth place point man is former national UMP champion Rodney Melvin with 124 points after a 2nd, 3rd and a 12th place finish.
Fifth place is Greg Johnson who after a slow start in the opening night has rallied to post two top 5 finishes with a 3rd and a 5th and now has 114 points.
The remainder of the top 10 is Brian Shirley with 1 win and 110 points, Randy Korte with 2 top 10's and 96 points, Justin Allgaier with 1 top 5 and 85 points, Kevin Weaver with 2 top 10's and 78 points and Matt Taylor with 2 top 10 finishes and 74 points.
