The UMP Summer Nationals 2004 edition will roll into the American Legion FAIRBURY SPEEDWAY in Fairbury, Illinois Saturday night June 26th for a 40 lap $10,000 to win A-Main event!
Going into Fairbury action the "Real Deal" Don O'Neal sits atop the Summer Nationals point standings after his win at Kamp Motor Speedway and again at Kankakee Motor Speedway on Friday night. O'Neal has 4 top 10 finishes thus far in the series with 2 wins. O'Neal has 219 points.
After posting yet another top 5 finish at Kankakee by virtue of a third place finish, The Moweaqua Missile Shannon Babb has 185 points in his account for a solid second place standing!
Third place is held by Terry English in a close battle with Babb as English sits just three markers behind with 182 points and is 4 foro 4 with Top 5 finishes on the series!
Fourth place point man is former national UMP champion Rodney Melvin with 145 points after a 2nd, 3rd and a 12th place finish, and a 14th at Kankakee.
Fifth place is Greg Johnson who after a slow start in the opening night has rallied to post two top 5 finishes with a 3rd and a 5th and a 13th at KKK, and now has 137 points.
The remainder of the top 10 is Brian Shirley with 1 win and 130 points, Randy Korte with 2 top 10's and118 points, Justin Allgaier with 1 top 5 and 106 points, Kevin Weaver with 3 top 10's and 105 points and a three way tie for 10th between Dennis Erb, Ritchie Hedrick and Wes Steidinger all with 91 points.
