Proud Pro 4 Stocker
I am pleased to announce the 4 cylinder class at pevely formerly known as the wannabeez has had a name change. After petitioning Allied for some changes in our class, the decision has been made to change the name. While nothing is written in stone at this point Allied officials informed me they are considering naming us the "AARA PRO 4 STOCKS". I feel this is a good name and am proud to be a part of what is bringing changes about. Pro 4 Stocks indentifies our class as a stock four cylinder class and yet gives some dignity and recognition as a stock car class.
In addition to the name change I am told we will have more laps in our races this coming season. We will be running 6 lap heats and 10 to 12 lap features depending on car count. I believe that with more laps drivers will be able to set up better when passing without as much pressure cause your running out of laps.
I expect there will be less cautions and better races as a result.
I look for 2004 to be a great season and I only wish it were april right now. I would like to thank anyone and everyone who lent an ear or an opinion as we worked on the ideas that were submitted to Allied. It has been brought to my attention that someone made some sort of demands to Ray Marler about purse.
while we did propose a small purse there were never any demands made of any kind. futhermore I would like to make it clear that whoever this person was, does not speak for the majority of us.
I had arranged a meeting earlier this month as I'm sure many of you are aware, we had a fair turnout but it could have been better. I will be calling another meeting soon as I have some ideas that we need to talk about. I need to sort out the information I have at this time and am not ready to release any of it just yet. If you want to be involved in a productive manner, come sit in on our meeting. If you own or drive a car at pevely I urge you to attend, your opinion and ideas count as much as anyone elses. I will be posting more about that at a later date.
