velocity stack?

depends on soooooo many things... but, generally speaking, they help in lower to mid range rpm situations. top end, basically no difference.
 
like i said, depends on sooo many things.. if you have an upper end cam, then no, not really. you said you have a hi-rise intake. then, still, not as much as a lo-rise intake. if you have an intake system / cam that is for low end , or torque, rather than a screamer, then maybe. you still may have an issue of getting the hood shut, depending on the veh. it's in.
