RICHMOND, KY (September 24, 2007)—It’s been a 22 race journey, but Victor Lee has won the O’Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Championship.

Lee, a native of Stanford, KY teamed up for 2007 with Frank Revel Motorsports of Richmond, KY and the pair had one goal in mind, winning the series championship.

After two straight top-five finishes in the first two races on the series tour coming at Florence Speedway and Twin Cities Raceway Park, things were looking good for the # 4 ride. The series then moved to Brownstown Speedway for the 24th running of the Hoosier Dirt Classic and after taking a provisional to get in the show, Victor Lee had moved from his 22nd starting position to earn the PPM Racing Products Hard Charger Award and finish ninth.

Lee backed up his Hard Charger Award at Brownstown Speedway with a third place finish in the 4th Annual Spring 40 at Ponderosa Speedway on April 27.

A pair of former Open Wheel Modified stand-outs Mike Marlar and Victor Lee would finish first and second in the 10th Spring Sizzler at Bluegrass Motor Speedway on April 28th. Marlar would leave Bluegrass with $3,000 and the series points lead with Lee only 28 points behind.

A “Nightmare” would occur for Victor Lee on May 12 at Tazewell Speedway as Jimmy Owens went to victory lane taking $4,000 in the Harley Davidson of Knoxville, TN 50 event while Lee and crew managed to come out alive but with a disappointing 17th place finish in the event.

The team would then head north to start Memorial Day Weekend and the Kentucky Speedweek with a $3,000 event at the Portsmouth Raceway Park as Victor Lee tamed the Design 500 second B-Main and maintained a 19th place run in the Owen Stephens Memorial event just across the Ohio river in Portsmouth, OH.

The next stop on the Speedweek was Bluegrass Motor Speedway as the team knocked out a sixth place finish. The team then rallied to a fourth place finish during the Speedweek stop at Richmond Speedway. The team also finished fourth in the Speedweek event at the Burnside Raceway. Lee kept getting closer to that first win during the final stop at the Ponderosa Speedway taking a third place finish in the Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial event.

A couple of weeks off would bring the Battle of the Bluegrass back home to the Bluegrass Speedway for the June Jam event as Victor Lee would take home another top-five in the A-Main finishing fifth.

Tragedy would strike the team during the 9th annual Lee Fleetwood Memorial event at Brownstown Speedway as Lee would flip his # 4 ride several times during Time Trials. Lee would be un-hurt and have to rely on the faithful Todd Family Motorsports team for a back-up car. The team finished 22nd in the main event but left Brownstown Speedway with the points lead in the series.

On June 30, the team traveled to 201 Speedway for the summer event taking a seventh place finish in the main event, holding a good marginal points lead over Mike Marlar with just eight races remaining.

A 14th place run in the Spring 50 make-up event at Florence Speedway propelled the team to another top-five in the Pete Abell Memorial event at the Ponderosa Speedway the following weekend. Victor Lee would finish in the seventh spot the following night at the Bluegrass Speedway for the Kentuckiana Klash event.

The 20th Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial event at Richmond Speedway would see the Revel Motorsports owned team finish this in the main event with driver Victor Lee and again earn the PPM Racing Products Hard Charger Award after starting 19th.

After nearly a month off, the Battle of the Bluegrass returned to Ponderosa Speedway for the 5th annual John Bradshaw Memorial event with Victor Lee taking a third place finish in the event behind winner Mike Marlar and second place finisher Scott James.

The team stopped by Mountain Motor Speedway on Friday night August 31 for the annual CT Promotions “Iron-Man” event and bad luck would come around again as Lee got caught up with Brandon Fouts and destroyed their race-car during the Heat event.

After Catlettsburg, KY car owner Tim Logan graciously lent the team a ride for the 201 Speedway event, Victor Lee drove the car to an eighth place finish in the annual Labor Day Weekend event.

The series was off a weekend for the World 100 and returned to Richmond Speedway for the final time taking home a sixth place finish in the Fall 40 event.

The final event of the season would bring the team back to the Bluegrass Speedway for the 9th annual Bluegrass 50 event. The team finished eighth in the main event and was honored in post-race festivities as the 2007 O’Reilly Auto Parts NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Champion. In other activities, Jason Keltner of Campbellsville, KY was also honored as the 2007 Rookie of the Year and second place in the series points.
