Vintage Race Car Roller: This car was built with the Gateway Vintage Racing series in mind but would work with others. The frame rails are from a 35 Chevy, and the body is from a 27 Ford tudor sedan. A complete upper structure and roll cage of 1 ½ inch .095 wall tubing and a rear extension of 2x4 inch .125 wall tubing have been added with boxing in critical areas. The body has been completely gutted, the door openings shortened and a steel roof added. The front suspension is coil over shocks on a J&J sprint car axle with Ford spindles, Coleman snouts, wide five hubs, left front Wilwood disc brake and Speedway steering arms (all new parts). The rear suspension is torsion bar on a Winters quick change rear end with aluminum axle tubes, shocks, wide five hubs, rotors, GM large size calipers on Speedway brackets and a torque tube style drive shaft (all new parts). The torsion arms, stops and Jacobs ladder are used but in excellent condition. The steering uses an old style Saginaw box (used) with new shafts, u-joints and quick release steering hub and wheel. Also with the car are four very good Duralight wheels with new Hoosier front tires and American Racer rear tires, a new aluminum radiator, an eight gallon fuel tank and a few interior body panels. The car needs the interior of the body finished, bumpers, gauges, engine and trans and plumbing. This roller is very light and would be easy to set up as it is similar to many east coast modifieds.
