The rains of last week were gone and fans, drivers, and officials were anxious to get underway as Central Missouri Speedway rolled out the LaFarge Limited Late Model Special/Race Night under a full moon rising in the sky.

The Mighty Modified division has consistently put on great wheel to wheel racing action and once again the fans weren't disappointed as a battle for the top spot ensued at the drop of the green flag. Dean Wille placed is machine to the front as the field roared into turn one, but heavy pressure was being applied from behind by both Mark Dotson and point leader Gary Blackburn Jr. Dotson and Blackburn both made a charge to the front at the beginning of lap three with Dotson pulling alongside Wille as the pair came off of turn two. Slight contact between the two front runners saw Wille's machine spin to the high side and come to a stop relegating him to the rear of the field. When the race resumed Dotson took command of the race, but Blackburn and third running Richard Layne kept applying the heat and didn't allow the leader to get out of their sights. As Dotson entered heavy lapped traffic on lap fourteen he had built up a seven carlength advantage, but Blackburn was able to narrow the gap slightly still looking for a way into the top spot. The final caution waved on lap eighteen as Dean Wille's night came to a premature end when his machine rolled to a stop in turn two and retiring to the trailer for the remainder of the night. A two lap shootout ensued with Dotson holding on for the apparent win as the checkered flag waved. With the race completed officials were forced to disqualify Dotson for failing to report directly to the tech area handing the win to Gary Blackburn Jr. with Richard Layne, Jess Folk, Dave Meyer, and Bobby Layne holding on for the top five. Earlier in the evening Mark Dotson, Dean Wille, Gary Blackburn Jr., Richard Layne and Jess Folk were able to hold on for their respective heat race wins. Tim Karrick came from the back of the pack not once, but twice to take the win in the B feature and transfer into the nights main event.

The LaFarge Limited Late Model Special saw a tough field of cars take to the track for twenty laps of ground pounding action. When the dust had settled it was the visiting entry of Virgil Jefferey from Ashland, MO who came away with the winner's share of the loot. Jefferey started the feature on the pole position, but at the drop of the green it was Knob Noster's Jim Wilson who powered into the lead from the outside of row one. Wilson quickly opened up an advantage on the field and looked to be on his way to his first win of the season, but it just wasn't to be. As the field entered lapped traffic on lap ten, Wilson shot to the low side in turns three and four when a lapped car pinched him off forcing him into the infield tires bringing out the caution. Wilson was able to continue, albeit from the rear of the field. Jeffrey now had command of the field, but was hanging on for dear life as Ryan Lovercamp and fourteenth starting Kevin Coyne were making the battle at the front hot and heavy. The leaders set a torrid pace and continued to dice two and three wide for the position, but Jefferey was able to hold them off. The white flag waved and Lovercamp made one last ditch effort for the top spot going into turn one, but a little to much steam caused him to nearly spin his machine and he lost several positions. Jefferey was able to hold off Coyne for the remainder of the lap and take home the victory in his first visit to the Central Missouri speedplant. Following Jefferey and Coyne across the line were Steven Clancy, Mark Evinger and Ryan Lovercamp to round out the top five at the line. Virgil Jefferey and Jim Wilson comprised the front row by virtue of their heat race wins earlier in the evening.

The hot rod street stocks took to the track and when the night was through Marc Carter found himself at the front of the pack for his fifth win in the last six races and his division leading sixth win of the season. Two time 2004 winner Dave Bentlage shot into the lead at the drop of the green and quickly built up a five carlength advantage on second running Fred King Jr. The yellow would fly on lap five for the stalled mount of Dan Colhour bunching the field back up. Bentlage once again opened up a gap on the rest of the field, but this time it was Carter who had worked past King and was chasing down the leader. The laps clicked off as Carter closed the gap on Bentlage and pulled to his rear bumper as the two raced into heavy lapped traffic on the tenth go round of the fifteen lap event. Lap eleven saw Carter worked the lapped traffic to his advantage and move underneath Bentlage as they raced through turns one and two and take over the top spot. Bentlage was looking to move back around Carter, but his night would come to an early end on lap twelve as heavy smoke poured from the car when the gears gave up in the machine. Carter was able to hold off the charging Fred King Jr. over the final few circuits and collected another win and also took over the top spot in the points standings. Donald Dannar, Tammy Korff and Brian Inlow followed Carter and King across the line to complete the top five at the finish. Bentlage, King Jr., and John Ebert were victorious in the three heat races to set the field for the main event.
