VMS King Of The Commonwealth A National Event For ULTIMATE BoB

CARNESVILLE, GA – The 60-lap $20,000-to-win, $575-to-start Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth on Saturday night at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA will be a National event for the ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series. ULTIMATE BoB competitors may use their finish in the in this race to replace a lower finish in a Regional race.



Twice a year, Virginia Motor Speedway hosts the richest single-day show in all of Regional Super Late Model racing. This Saturday night, the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will participate in the 60-lap $20,000-to-win, $575-to-start Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth. VMS also hosts the $20,000-to-win, $575-to-start USA 100 on June 3.




ULTIMATE Super Late Model races paying $10,000-to-win or more are considered National events. If the National event is outside of a competitor’s home Region, they may use points earned in the National event to replace a Regional event point total of lesser value.



Tanner English of Benton, KY won the ULTIMATE BoB season opener at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN on April 1. Jeremy Himes of Seymour, IN is the defending ULTIMATE BoB Champion, and Derek Fisher of Seymour, IN was the 2016 ULTIMATE BoB Rookie of the year.



The Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth is also a rare opportunity for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series to share the racing program with its sister series, the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series. The FASTRAK Pro Late Models will be competing in a 40-lap $3,000-to-win, $275-to-start race this Saturday night at Virginia Motor Speedway.



On Saturday at Virginia Motor Speedway, the pit gate opens at 3 p.m., with ULTIMATE Pre-Race Registration and Technical/Safety Inspection from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Drivers need to bring their helmets and head and neck restraint systems to Tech along with their race car. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and Hot Laps are set for 6 p.m.
