BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Big money ($50,000 to the champion from the $250,000 series point fund) will be on the line when the third and final leg of the three-race Fastrak Racing Series national championship shootout will be held at Volunteer Speedway on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20.

Race teams from all over the country are expected to invade East Tennessee, coming from the West Coast states of Washington, Oregon and Wyoming; and from the Midwest heartland states of Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin; and from the Northeast states of New York and Pennsylvania. The Mideast region will send drivers from Ohio and West Virginia; with the South being represented with race teams from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. Over 100 drivers are eligible to compete in the national championship events. How many will show up and attempt to win the $50,000 that will be awarded to the title winner? The remainder of the $250,000 points fund money will be distributed back through the top-30 in the final point standings.

Friday, Oct. 19 will be an evening of open practice for all Fastrak Racing Series Crate Late Model competitors, to be followed by time-trials to determine heat race lineups for the Fastrak Racing Series Crate Late Model national championship event the next night. The "Rusty Wallace Toyota" Hobby Stocks will run a 20-lap feature.

The pit gate will open Friday at 3 p.m. and the grandstands open at 5 p.m. The drivers' meeting is scheduled for 5 o'clock, with open practice getting started around 6:30 p.m. Fastrak Racing Series qualifying will begin approximately at 9 p.m., to be followed immediately by the "Rusty Wallace Toyota" Hobby Stock feature.

Adult grandstand admission on Friday is $7, children 12-and-under admitted free. Pit admission and backside tier-parking $25.

Highlighting the racing program on Saturday, Oct. 20 will be the Fastrak Racing Series Crate Late Model "National Championship at The Gap." The night of racing will kick off with hotlaps, to be followed by heat races, last chance consolations and a 75-lap feature paying $2,000-to-win and $400-to-start. Once the checkered flag waves and the on-track battles have been won, Fastrak officials will calculate the points from the three national championship events held to determine who will be crowned the 2007 Fastrak Racing Series national champion and earn the $50,000 payday.

The "Rusty Wallace Toyota" Hobby Stocks will be back in action on Saturday, making it a double-header weekend of racing for them. Both nights of racing for the Hobby Stocks will be points awarding events!!!

The pit gate will open Saturday at 3 p.m. and the grandstands open at 4:30 p.m. The drivers' meeting is scheduled for 5 o'clock, with hotlaps starting around 6:30 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission on Saturday is $15, children 12-and-under admitted free. Pit admission and backside tier-parking $30.
