CORONA, CA (July 5, 2007)-The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will visit the Volunteer State of Tennessee at two of the most exciting racing facilities on the season schedule. On Friday Night, July 6th the series takes to the high banks of "The Taz" Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN for the "Toyota of Knoxville 75" and on Saturday Night, July 7th the series will make its first ever appearance at "The Gap" Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN. Both events will pay $10,000 to win and $700 to start.

With the just recently completed back to back shows in Ohio, two-time and defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL saw his point lead slimmed down. Pearson now holds a narrow 50 point margin over the series latest winner Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN. Casebolt's second win of the season came on Tuesday Night at Muskingum County Speedway as he continues to close down the gap in the chase for the title. Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN who finished second to Casebolt at Zanesville is only 70 points off the pace behind Pearson. Terry English of Benton, KY still holds down the fourth spot with Muskingum County third place finisher, Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY now residing in the fifth spot.

The rest of the top ten headed to Tennessee this weekend include Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH, Billy Drake of Bloomington, IL, Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI, Damon Eller of Crumpler, NC and Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY.

Rattliff is the top gun in the COMP Cams "Rookie if the Year" chase with Eller and Neat in second and third place in the most competitive rookie class in touring dirt late model racing.

It will be the third ever appearance for the premier touring late model series at Tazewell Speedway. In the two previous appearances at "The Taz" Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN were the winners. Both are expected to be on hand at these weekends' events to try and defend their home turf.

The tire rule for both events will be the same: Hoosier LM20, 1300, 1350, LM40, 1600 and the American Racer SD44, SD48 and MD56.

There will be complete show both nights with LifeLong Locks Time Trials along with the Hawk Brake and Quarter Master sponsored heat races. The number of heat races will be based on the number of entries. The Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks B-Mains will be run followed by the $10,000 to win feature race.
