Series To Be Known as PolyDome Late Model Series

By Tom Lathen

(Gilman City, MO) The WORLD Dirt Racing League has unveiled a new logo for the 2005 season and has also announced a change in the series name.

The new logo, designed by Josh Anderson of Chase Race Decals in Ames, Iowa, gives title-sponsor PolyDome Products, a more prominent position than in the former logo, and incorporates the PolyDome corporate logo in a more fast-paced, action-look appearance.

The familiar WORLD Dirt Racing League logo is positioned under the PolyDome logo with the entire design set against a black background with blue elliptical borders.

According to series founder and director, Jim Wilson, the new logo has already been added to the series web site, www.worldraceleague.com, and will also appear on the new series uniforms, which will be provided again this season by 21st Image/Max I. Walker Uniform Rental of Omaha, Nebraska.

The series has also announced that the series name will be changed from the PolyDome Super Series to the PolyDome Late Model Series. The move was made to better articulate the type of racing the series features.

“When we started the series three and a half years ago, we selected the name Super Series because we felt it talked about the type of series we intended to become,” said Wilson.

“Although we really liked the name Super Series and it certainly served us well during our early years, our feeling was that changing the name to the PolyDome Late Model Series would better describe who we actually are,” he added.

The WORLD Dirt Racing League recently released it’s most aggressive schedule to date, a 33-race tour that begins on April 2 at Nebraska Raceway Park (I-80 Speedway) in Greenwood, Nebraska.
