Inside Line Promotions - LAWTON, Okla. (Aug. 26, 2014) - Jordan Weaver was oh so close to her first career 360ci sprint car victory last Saturday at Lawton Speedway.
Weaver, who won an ASCS Sooner Region heat race, rallied from her third starting into the lead during the feature on the slick track before a flat tire relegated her into the pits early.
"I took the lead on Lap 7 and I led to Lap 16," she said. "We had a red flag and everything was fine. They started pushing us off and I was rolling around there and my right rear tire started to go down on me. It just leaked down. I don't know why or how. I tried to get it to go (on the restart), but I made it about a lap and pulled in after that."
Weaver was credited with a 20[sup]th[/sup]-place finish.
"I know the first win is going to be tough and I thought I had it, but we'll have to try again some other time," she said. "That was a hard way to lose one."
The weekend started on Friday at Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Weaver made her debut.
"It was a really small track and was real dusty," she said. "At the beginning of the feature when everybody was everywhere it was kinda hard to see. We started midway and we passed cars and went forward. You can't complain about that."
Weaver, who maneuvered from fourth to third place in her heat race, finished the feature with a sixth-place result. It marked her sixth top 10 of the season.
