(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Wendell Wallace Autosports ran second in the Mid-America Racing Series finale this past weekend at Wheatland Raceway in Wheatland, MO. The weekend was scheduled to feature a $3,000 feature on both Friday and Saturday night, but persistent rains caused the cancellation of the Friday night event. On Saturday, Wendell finished third in his heat race to earn a ninth place starting spot in the $3,000 to win show. “The Batesville Bullet” quickly made his way to the front and battled race leader and eventual winner Terry Phillips throughout the closing laps of the event. The J&J Steel / MSE Distributing #88 GRT / Craft Ford Taurus had to settle for a second place effort after a last lap run came up a bit short.

The team will head to Mississippi this coming weekend to compete in the 14th Annual Magnolia State 100 at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS. The $20,003 to win show will kick off with an open practice session on Thursday night. Friday night will feature pole qualifying and heat races, with B-Mains and the 60-lap Magnolia State 100 to follow on Saturday. Wendell has two Magnolia State titles to his credit, as he picked up wins at the 3/10-mile, high-banked, clay oval in 1993 and 1998.
