(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Current O'Reilly Mid American Racing Series (MARS)
point leader Wendell Wallace, of Batesville, AR, posted a solid third place
finish on Saturday night at the Joplin 66 Speedway in Joplin, MO. The race
was a MARS-sanctioned event and paid $3,000 to the winner. The event was
cut short to 25 laps due to the rough track conditions. Wendell is now 21
points ahead of Joplin winner Terry Phillips in the 2004 MARS point battle.

The MARS race scheduled for last Friday at the Tulsa Speedway in Tulsa, OK
was cancelled due to inclement weather.

"The track at Joplin was pretty bad last weekend," said "The Batesville
Bullet" on Monday. "I am glad they cut the race short because it was really
rough out there. We got a third out of it and that is a good points night
for us. I think we will probably run the whole MARS schedule this season
since we started out good. Plus, it is nice to be at home all week instead
of out on the road."

Wendell Wallace Autosports will travel back down to Chatham, LA this weekend
for the 'Southern 100'. The event was postponed on April 23, but qualifying
and heat races were completed on April 22. Wendell timed in seventh fastest
back on April 22 and won his heat race to earn an inside second row starting
spot for the $15,000 feature event, which will be run this Saturday night.

"We are looking forward to get back down to Chatham this weekend," stated
Wallace. "It should be interesting because those SUPR guys have the big
spoilers and it is hard to outrun those guys like that. It should be a
great race this weekend. Hopefully the weather will hold out and we can get
the race in."
