We're Sorry

Folks to say we are at a loss for words would be a huge understatement, but none of it has been our fault on all these delays.

We had both the approval of the VFW Post Commander and the VFW Committee that was in charge of the racetrack at Fredericktown before we ever started or posted anything.

Even after the vote was taken by the overall members and it failed by one vote, we were still told things were going to work out. But since that time we've been put off and put off and put off with "paper work."

I know most of you are as frustrated, aggravated and even mad as we are trying to get this taken care of, but I swear we are doing all we can (and even a bit more). Terry even took off work for two weeks just to try and nail some things down. But still, "Hurry up and wait."

Again we apologize for all the delays and problems, but most of it is simply out of our hands. We are still making plans to move ahead with the track one way or another, however right now I cannot give you a time frame. That's where we are right now. I hope you can understand and will bear with us.

Thanks again.

I work for the Federal Government, so I know a little something about paper work. LOL. Sad, but true. Oh well, 3 years and 7 months to go until retirement. Anyway, around here when someone keeps throwing paperwork at you or setting hoops in front of you through which you must pass, it often means they have their own agenda. So, instead of being up front with you, they keep throwing up roadblocks, hoping you'll just give up and go away. Is there any chance someone involved in the process has their own agenda or reason to see this fail? Just asking you to consider the possibiity, not to discuss it on here as that would only smoke them out into the open, make things worse, and probably set off another email sniping contest. Anyway, if that's the case sometimes you can pull them aside and come to some understanding. Just a thought.

I'm trying to remain positive, but its tough. I filled out my vacation schedule today and included several Fridays just in case. If nothing else, I can at least watch F1 practice. And, I also expect to attend the US Grand Prix again this year. Off topic, I know, but I'm trying to think happy thoughts!

Finally, thanks to all involved who are trying to make this happen. I know all the fans appreciate the effort.

Tom that very well might be true, I don't know. What I don't understand is why some people take satisfaction in the problems of others. When you read on other boards how happy it makes them that the track is having problems getting off the ground it let's you know right then what kind of individual that person is. But after being around a few of them over the years I've come to know how two-faced some of them are anyway so it really didn't surprise me by their actions.
To the loyal people who have stood beside us during this difficult period of time I'm positive you will be rewarded greatly in the near future. We really appreciate all the kind emails, PMs and posts you've made for us. To those who have done their best to create problems and bad-mouth what we've been doing, well, you reap what you sew.

Millsey,

Speaking in general terms, based on (too many) years of working with people, some folks just ain't happy unless they're complaining or sticking it to someone else. I just put it off to them being unhappy in their lives (assuming they have one) and getting their jollies stirring the pot. Human nature. What are you going to do? People are just tempermental critters and you can never really know what actually motivates them. Usually trying to figure it out just drives you crazy.

That all said, thanks again to you, Terry and all the other folks trying to get this up and running - literally!

I second what Axe said...........Yes, I know what "dealing with the paperwork" is!!

I too want to THANK: Terry, Curley, and Millsey. Like I told Terry on the phone its always a hoot working with him and I look forward to seeing him in 06~~....

I hold my "half full glass" up to toast the "Opening of the Rock" ....:D

 Guess I have to third it then guys! Know all have bent over back-wards to get this to fly. Thanks Guys for all your hard work and sleepless nights! :D ;)

Failed by one vote??? Can we get a recount? Are we dealing with a voter that doesnt want to listen to the beautiful noise that will be made there if it opens??? "Never fear the loud pedal negative vote giver guy!"
