what gear

wondering what kind gearing would be good 4 a sportsman car on 5th mile track

I would guess you are referring to a track like belleville, since it is a 1/5th mile to my knowledge. Really depends on how much you want to turn your motor, etc. If i were you i would go with anything less than a 7.90 final. ( 4.71 gears with a 1.68 ) You would turn about 6800 or so i think. You can run more than that. I have and still do. These small tracks are a drag race so throw some gear in it and let it eat!!!!.....

ya tom im talking about like bellvile was trying to figure it out i like to turn lot rpms so that would be good starting point thanks 4 the help hope to see u at mt vernon some if they ever get it open
