What Happened To Ed At The North South 100 Hall Of Fame Race I Seen He Qual 81 But Nothing After That Was Just Curious.

He finished 8th out of 14 cars in the 3rd heat & 13th out of 20 cars in the "B" main. He didnt make the feature.

I got this off the Florence Message Board.

Any particular reason for the bad run? Missed set-up, engine problems, what?

I believe I heard that he was the very first car to go out to qualify and the track was still a little slimy...

Jimmy D. is correct. Ed drew pill #1 for qualifying. He sat in line, first to go out and watched them water the track. His hot lap times were in the 17's but his qualifying time was over 18.00. Track was a little slick for the first guys out.
