Why isn't there a STL area Pro-4 series?

F5 Racer

Looking for a ride!
I guess it's the winter time boardom getting to me but I was wondering why there isn't a little St.Louis area series for pro-4. It would be a huge money maker for the tracks. Pay something like 500 to win and a full payout and you would get a ton of cars. Gets tracks such as I-55, Tri-City, Belle-Vegas, Brownstown, Highland, etc... Pro-4 racing is just getting bigger and more popular every year with the economic state we're in. Just a thought.

That would be cool. I think something like that would take pro-4 racing from just an entry level class to something a little more professional. Well PM me with some details Don because I would like to help if I can.

A real Pro4 series would be a small mod with a speck 4 cylinder an a speck drive train .Easy to inspect & safer than a hornet an you could learn all about setup for a RWD that would help you if you moved up a class.

I don't think that would go well around. There are so many FWD Pro-4s in there area it just wouldn't happen.

I think a more "open" rule book would be awesome. maybe allow some wider tires or something, i would still put my money on the FWD. and please, no more brake lights.... it makes the class look like a joke

I agree on no more brake lights for sure. That's the dumbest rule out there. Ya I could see opening them up a little but not too much to discourage some of the newer people.

In 2008 TCS and Mt Vernon worked together to put on a two track two night point race for $1000 to win at each track. I don't remember who won the points but they took home some good cash. Russell Eilers ran one of my cars at both tracks and made me some where around $700.
This past season there were several nights when TCS and Belle-Clair didn't run 4-cyls and Fayette Co increased their payout. There were also nights when Fayette Co and TCS didn't run 4-cyls and Belle-Clair increased their payout. Those type of nights would be perfect to use as an all area points race. The tracks would need to work together for this to happen though.

Would be neat. Im trying to figure out where Ill be racing on the tri city dates that will not be racing 4 cyls. I know its a little early lol but i like to stay on top of things.

The FWD cars will get around the track better but the RWD cars will help you learn about setting the car up in other classes if you are planning on moving up. Opening up the rules makes for faster cars but it usually ends up the person that will spend the most wins. It can actually create a less competitive race. It may be a coincidence but it seemed like the more the rules were opened up at MCS the less 4cyl cars we had.
With all the 4cyl cars sitting around that can be bought for next to nothing a Pro 4 series should have a pretty good car count. Just set up a good set of rules and make sure you tech it well or it will end up being a joke.
Running different tracks is a lot more fun than running the same track all the time. I really enjoyed running with the RAMS traveling series.
Whatever you do good luck, it should be a lot of fun.
