they said his tires were to wide

the rules say 60 series or taller nothing about the width

and he was running 70 series
 
Apparently Rob Shaw saw that Aaron's tires were a little too wide so he tatletaled to the track officials about it. That is a rediculous thing for someone to get dqed for.

This info is false!:mad: I do not appreciate you always trying to make me look bad with your lies. I have no problem with Aaron's car and if I did I would go staight to him with it.
I applaud the track officials for reviewing this matter and making the correct call.

i'm sure you would go stright to him about it, just like you went straight to us (not).
and actually they did make the correct call because they gave him his spot back.
 
If im not mistaking, you can correct me if im wrong; which im sure someone will.

The second number in the tire code is a percentage number, So if you have a 205/60/R14, your side wall is 60% of the 205mm, a 205/70 will be 70% of the 205mm.

The differance between a 205/60 and a 205/70 is the height of the side wall, by a 10% differance. The width does not change. Depending on the manufacturer, the shape of the tread patch may be different; making the tire appear more narrow. Meaning a flatter tread patch will look wider than a more round one.

Also the first number is a measurment in millimeters, and is the width of the tread (not the width from side wall to side wall)

Jason: You are dead on about the tires specs to my knowledge. The problem is that the new track is so large that it's tough to find a tall enough tire to get around the joint.

RACER12: This is the kinda stuff that makes not only me and my team look bad, but the class as a whole. Fans and other drivers from higher classes see this weekly circus of drama and whining and we lose whatever respect we had gained. Whatever the rumor, I have no proof and no suggestion from anyone about who might have complained about my tires. I'm not trying to lecture or tell anyone what to do but it's not helping the current climate of animosity in our class amongst drivers/teams.

hamblin just dont like rob shaw so any way to make him look lik an as* he jumps on it the post was why was he dqed not a bash fest for any body i was not there friday night and just wanted to know what happend
