Will the dominance continue, and will the most improved continue to get better?

The year is over and what a year it was, and by the looks of things Marler and Schrader are working hard on making next year even better. Now that the year is over who do you think was the most dominant in each class and who was most improved at Pevey? And who do you think will be most dominant and most improved next year.

This year's most dominant.
Late Model: Ed Dixon, Eddy put all rumors to rest, he still has it!
Mod's: Scott Weber, not the most consistant year but when he is on, he is the man to beat at pevely.
Sportsman: Paul Belken, even though he only raced half the year in this class he still made it in the top 10. The guys still looked at him as the guy to beat in this class.

Most Improved:
Late Model: Kyle Steffens, this young man is getting better and better and is fun to watch.
Mod's: Dennis Richards, there are a lot of people who could get this in my book, but he has to the cleanest driver and was always competitve.
Sportsman: Darren Holland, he quietely put together a top 5 finish.

Next Years Most Dominant
Late Model: I think Oller will make a big push for track champion next year, but I still think Dixon is the man to beat.
Mod's: I think the fly'n W's will again dominate the mod's with Walsh, Whaley, and Weber, but Weber if he doesn't go to late models will show again why we call him rocketman.
Sportsman: This one is wide open with Bauman, Horton, Stuppy, Lowry, and with Naeger coming back its going to be fun, but I think if Belken races sportsman for a full season it's his, if not Bauman and Horton will fight it out.

Next year's Most Improved
Late Model: Paul Belken
Mod's: Doug Woods
Sportsman: David Bardin

How many more days til opening night?

I agree with you. Would like to see Paul stay with the Late Models though. Thought he did an excellent job for the first year. Money and backing could be a problem, though. Time to give the sportsman class to the younger drivers.

Money and good sponsors are hard to come by, though. If some of the drivers had the backing, believe you would see some knew faces up front.

I HEARD PAUL SOLD THE LATE MODEL. SO I DON'T KNOW IF HE'LL BE BACK IN ONE OR NOT NEXT SEASON.

AS FAR AS GIVING THE SPORTSMAN TO THE YOUNGER GUYS??? WELL, THE WAY I SEE IT, IS RACING IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND A RACER SHOULD RACE WHERE IT MOST COMFORTABLE FOR HIS FINANCES. IF ITS THE SPORTSMANS SO BE IT.

AC - you talk about the flyin' W's what about Worley? Worley has bad luck and I think that when He's on he is up there with those guys. He definately made strides this year in the Mods. and I think you'll see as big an improvement next year.

Yea, the sportsmans should be fun to watch:Bauman, Naeger, Stuppy, Belkin, Horton,McGraw, etc. Whomeverelse.

With the Late models, some one is really gonna step up next year. I really think Steffens will be that guy. He's so deep into it at a young age that he has no choice but to succeed.

An impressive list to say the least. It seems as though this list is limited to just one track, however. For variety's sake:

Next Years Most Dominant (at Tri City Speedway)
Late Model: Tom Seets or Dick Taylor
Mod's: Dennis Richards
Sportsman: Paul Belken
Street Stock: Bill Ernst

Next year's Most Improved
Late Model: Billy Laycock
Mod's: Corey Carricker
Sportsman: Mike Warfel
Street Stock: Matt Wright

And let's go a step further with Rookie of the Year:
Late Model: Steve Meyer Jr. or Joe Dresch
Modified: Tommie Seets Jr.
Sportsman: "Smoke" Johnson
Street Stock: Jake Robbins

Of course, this list is based purely on speculation and rumors. Isn't that the most enjoyable part of the off-season? You betcha!!!!!

Hey, what about Dean?

The flying W's will have a run for their money in 2004, with Dean Hoffman returning to the modified division. Remember, Dean nearly won the whole thing at I-55 the year before.

well actually. I think you have to watch everybody at Pevely cause each year everybody is getttin better...but as far as late models next year.....you need to watch Gundaker.....He was out for a year with an injury and came back great Next year it is going to be interesting like it is every year!!!

Thanks Doug, your the man, I've got a couple things up my sleeve for next year.

Still won't help. You can't even run up front and stay together long enough being illegal!!!!

Racingsnotty is back! Must have put down the pipe for a while. Just get over it, racingsnotty. You were with the guy, didn't work out, and now you dog him for no good reason. I guess I really shouldn't be surprised to hear these things from someone who lists Belleville as their favorite track and worships the Petroff Puss... I mean Posse.

Becky, Becky, Becky, that's fairly amusing. You have no reason to act ugly with me, and I'm not going to lower myself to your level and trade childish comments. I hope your mom is doing better and Pops is doing alright. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, I hope you have a healthy baby.

Mom's great and MY DAD is to. You don't have to put yourself at my level because you did that on your own a while ago. How did you know about the baby? It is healthy so far.
