Lebanon,Mo.-They say after you capture your first win the rest come easy.Current USRA Modified Midway point leader Jimmy Willis is proving that statement to be true as he took the lead on lap 2 and held off repeated challanges from Justin Neuman and Eric Hudson to take his second Modified feature win of the 2008 racing season Friday night at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway as over 90 race teams checked into the pits for an action packed night of racing.

The USRA Modified feature had Don Luna grab the opening lead from his pole spot as Willis shot to the low side on lap 2 to take the lead with defending champion Eric Hudson close behind and Justin Neuman following.Hudson tried several times to move around Willis but Willis was to strong. On lap 15,Neuman moved his car around Hudson and started to close in on the leader Willis, but Willis proved to much tonight as he withstood the late surge from Neuman while behind the lead trio a tight battle between Wayne Graybeal,Jamie Ragland and Tony Jackson Jr and Steve Muilenburg developed as those drivers swapped back and forth for posistion. With the checkered flying it was Willis followed by Neuman,Hudson,Graybeal and Jackson Jr rounding out the top 5 in a caution free feature.

The FactoryStocks provided another great feature as Jody Saultz took the opening lead with point leader Tim Petty close behind. The first caution waved as Ben Solberg spun in turn 4 on lap 5.On the restart Saultz and Petty continued there battle up front as Dusty Rhoads,Donnie Miller and Derek Brown were making up ground and closing on the leaders. On lap 7 Petty edged ahead of Saultz as it was now a 4 car battle as Petty and Saultz were side by side.THe Caution waved on lap 12 as contenders Rhoads,Brown and Justin Stoufer all got together in turn 4 with Brown cutting a tire down.On the restart Saultz took over the lead but had a tire starting to go down as the leaders bunched up with Donnie Miller taking the lead out of turn 2 with Solberg back in the lead pack. With tight racing for the lead,Miller would hang on to record his second win of the season followed by Saultz,Solberg,Brown and early leader Petty in the top 5.

The B-Modified feature would see another new winner as the field of 21 took the green flag with points runner-up Mickey Burrell grabbing the early lead as Josh Woody and Ted Ballinger followed closely. On lap 6,Veteran Ken dickinson moved around Woody for the runner-up spot and began to run down the leader Burrell as JC Morton and Jeff albright Jr were in the top 5 and closing quickly along with Steve Muilenburg.Burrell and Dickinson began hitting lapped traffic and that allowed Woody and the pack to gain on the leaders as Dickinson tried several times to get around Burrell with Burrell withstanding the challanges.A late caution for Jason Reckker and Earl Muilenburg gave the leaders clear track on lap 12 as on the restart,Dickinson tried the high groove in turn 1 but spun while going for the lead ending his chance of victory. This put Woody on Burrell's bumper and on the restart he shot to the low groove while Morton,Muilenburg, point leader Jason Otto and Shawn Nations were battling.Woody tried several attempts, but Burrell hung on to grab his first ever Midway victory with Woody,Morton,Nations and Muilenburg claiming the top 5 spots.

The Bombers feature saw Jack Hamer and Rodney Yost jump out to an early lead as they fought back and forth for the top spot while Brandon Waters,Rob White, point leader Brandon Knudtson and Mike Piercy were battling.Up front during a long green run,Hamer and Yost were side by side going through lapped traffic as Knudtson, last weeks winner Shawn Strong and Piercy were gaining quickly.Contenders Waters and White pulled to the pits ending there chances of a win while Hamer and Yost still battled up front. The caution waved on lap 10 as Chad Cromer's strong run to the front ended as he spun.On the restart,Knudtson and Piercy went around Yost as Hamer's car began to get very hard to go through the corners as Knudtson took the lead on lap 13 with Piercy close behind and Strong coming quickly also.Despite a late race challange Knudtson took the win with Piercy,Strong, early leader Hamer and Yost completing the top 5 as 14 of the 21 starters finished on the lead lap.

The LegendCars made a special apperance with Ro Hoffman grabbing the opening laed, but spun on the 3rd lap. This placed Dave Comer in the lead with Park Jones and Justin Comer close behind.Leader Dave Comer would find the top spot the hot spot as Justin Comer and Dave Bauer were applying pressure as Jones began another charge to the front as Rob Watson joined the fun.On lap 13,Justin Comer made the winning pass while Dave was holding off Jones for second place. As the last lap was being ran,Dave comer pulled even with Justin Comer as Jones and Bauer were side by side.Justin would take back the lead going into turn 3 and grabbed the win with Dave Comer,Jones,Bauer and Watson in the top 5.

The WingedSprnt feature had Galvin Galbreath jump to the early lead, but looped the car in turn 2 on lap 3.This gave former Midway Champion Eric Todd the top spot as he drove away from the field to capture his second win of the season with point leader JP Compton grabbing the runner-up spot followed by Clint Todd,Matt Tatro and Scott Wedelstadt.

Up Next at the Midway on Friday night Aug 8 will be a special event as the USMTS Touring Modifieds make there first ever apperance at the track as Modifieds drivers from 6 or more states are expected. This will be the first race in the USMTS Championship chase called the hunt as drivers such as 8 time nation champion Kelly Shyrock of Iowa, defending nation champion Jason Krohn of Minn,Greg Hughes of Oklahoma,Johnny Bone Jr of Ark and many others will battle the local area drivers such as point leader Jimmy Willis of Macks Creek,Jamie Ragland of Lebanon,Eric Hudson of Rolla,Tony Jackson Jr of Lebanon and many more expected entries along with point battles in the FactoryStocks,SuperStocks and Bombers
