Winegardner is Top ASCS Rebel Honoree

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (November 19, 2007) – Florida's T.J. Winegardner was the evening's top honoree as the American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region held its inaugural awards banquet at the Best Western Conference Center on St. Simons Island, GA, on Saturday night, November 17.



The 23-year-old Winegardner, hailing from Pierson, FL, posted a handful of top-five feature runs en route to capturing the inaugural ASCS Rebel Region championship by a slim 18-point margin over Georgia's Brian Thomas.



Other drivers honored over the course of the evening included Tyler Godwin of Lutz, FL, who finished third in ASCS Rebel Region points along with the Malabar, FL, duo of Kenny Adams and Bryn Gohn, who finished fourth and fifth in points, respectively.



The inaugural season of racing action for the ASCS Rebel Region consisted of thirteen nights of action at ten different tracks throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, with nine different drivers reaching victory lane.



Adams topped the win charts with four feature wins, while Michael Dupuy recorded two feature wins. Single wins were posted by Terry Gray, Wade Oliver, Matt Tiffany, Brad Bowden, Marshall Skinner, Lee Sowell and Jason Johnson.
