By Ben Shelton

MEMPHIS, TN (May 3, 2005) – Mother Nature took home her first victory of the year with the O’Reilly Thunder Racing Series on Friday night as it nixed the T.C.I. Memphis Street Stock Championship presented by Ray’s Auto Collision. The $1,200 to win event has been rescheduled for June 24th.

Up next at MMP, will be a special event, featuring the Cash-In-A-Flash Sprint Car division taking off their top wings and nose wings and battling for a $1,500 to win top prize. The total purse for the 360 Sprint Cars will boast over $7,100.

The Bugg’s Buggys 600cc Mini Sprints will also be removing their top wings and nose wings as they do battle for a $750 to win top prize. Their total purse for the event will exceed $1,900.

Drivers in both divisions will face the challenge of maneuvering their cars through the corners without the assistance of wings to provide down force. Instead of driving into the corners, drivers will have to literally throw their cars into the turns. The results will provide fans with great racing action on the ¼ mile bullring.

Special event’s points will be in affect with all drivers in both divisions receiving a flat 100 points for starting a heat race. There is no entry fee for either division.

The Ray’s Auto Collision Street Stocks and the O.H. Hendricks Super Late Models will also be in action.

The pit gate opens at 5:00 with spectator gates opening at 6:00. Hot laps are 7:00 and racing starts at 8:00 .

General admission tickets are $10 for adults. Children 12 and under $2 (Age 5 and under free). Pit passes are $25 for ages 12 and up and $15 for children 6-11 (Age 5 and under free).
