Wise Released From Hospital Following Manzanita Accident

Center Line, Mich. - Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises' Josh Wise has been released from Good Samaritan's Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz., following an accident in the USAC/CRA Sprint Series event at Manzanita Speedway on Saturday, January 21. Wise, who was transported to the hospital following a series of violent flips, was held overnight for evaluation.

Medical personnel ran extensive tests on Wise following the accident. Final tests conducted on Sunday, January 22, came back negative, allowing Wise to be discharged. He and his family flew back to Indianapolis, Ind., on Monday, January 23. He will continue his recovery at home.

Wise, who had been leading the 30-lap feature event at Manzanita Speedway, was caught up in a two-car accident on lap 14. The 2005 USAC National Midget Car Series champion is sore and bruised, but is expected to make a full recovery.
He will return to the seat of the No. 20 USAC National Sprint and Midget cars when the 2006 season resumes in the spring.
