Firecracker 35- $1,000 to win UMP Modifieds on tap for July 2nd

Nebo, KY- June 27th, 2005


Western Kentucky Speedway located just outside of Madisonville, KY will be hosting the 7th Annual Firecracker 35 for UMP Modifieds this Saturday July 2nd along with all divisions of racing and Hopkins Counties largest fireworks display during intermission plus Foot races for cash for children, women and men.

UMP Modifieds will be fighting it out for the $1,000 top prize for 35 laps around the beautifully prepared 3/8 mile speed plant. This event will pay $100 to start the main event.
Many of the regions top drivers will be on hand to try each other for the top prize. Also on tap for July 2nd will be Street Stock, Pure Stock and Cruisers. Modifieds will take 2 laps of qualifying starting at 6:30 pm. The remaining classes will have their races set with the pill draw. Gates will open at 4pm on July 2nd with Hot laps at 6pm and Qualifying at 6:30 and racing scheduled to kick off at 7:30 pm.

Western KY Speedway was last in action on Saturday June 25th with the Vintage Stock Car Association making their first ever appearance at the speedway. Marc McClintock of Marissa, IL took home the win after starting 13th in the feature event. In the UMP Modifieds Michael Coakley of Mortons Gap, KY picked up his 4th feature event win of the season. Other winners: Ben Cox of Trenton, KY in Street Stock, Brad Barnett of Owensboro, KY in Pure Stock and Mike Driskell of Rockport, IN won the Cruisers.
