ALLEN, TX (December 16) – The World of Outlaws will celebrate its 25th Anniversary at 46 racing facilities in 26 states while running 68 events over 96 dates in 2003, series Founder and President Ted Johnson announced Monday.

Sprint car racing’s premier series will visit three new tracks – Delaware International Speedway, Delta Bowl Speedway and East Alabama Motor Speedway – and return to several tracks missing from its schedule in recent years. Delaware International Speedway is a slightly-banked, ½-mile oval in Delmar, DE. Delta Bowl Speedway, in Tunica, MS, is a high-banked, 1/3-mile oval. East Alabama Motor Speedway, a high-banked, 3/8-mile oval, is located in Phenix City, AL.

Bridgeport Speedway, in Bridgeport, NJ, last hosted the World of Outlaws’ fire-breathing, mudslinging sprint cars in 1995. The last time the series visited Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA, was in 1996. Rocky Mountain Speedway, located in Commerce City, CO, last hosted a World of Outlaws event in 1995.

The World of Outlaws’ 25th Anniversary Season will start February 21st at Kings Speedway, the fifth straight year the semi-banked, 1/3-mile oval has hosted the season opener. Last Vegas Motor Speedway will host its eighth straight season finale October 31-November 1.

The season’s most prestigious events include the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway (August 13-16), the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway (September 4-6), the Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway (July 24-26), the Duel in the Dakotas at Red River Valley Speedway (June 12-14), the Harvest Classic at Calistoga Speedway (August 29-31), the Eagle Nationals at Eagle Raceway (June 27-28), the Williams Grove National Open at Williams Grove Speedway (October 3-4), the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway (July 19th) and the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway (July 22nd).

The World of Outlaws will visit its birthplace – Devil’s Bowl Speedway – for the Spring Nationals March 15th.

Dirt tracks at Speedway Motorsports Inc., facilities Texas Motor Speedway and Lowe’s Motor Speedway will host a pair of double-feature events for the fourth straight year. World of Outlaws races will precede the NASCAR Winston Cup event at Texas Motor Speedway March 28-29 and an Indy Racing League race October 10-11. The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway will host the Charlotte Outlaws Showdown May 23-24 before its annual Coca Cola 600 NASCAR Winston Cup event. WoO
