Worley Wins Sprint Feature - $7,500 to Win Show Next

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (May 20, 2006) Tommy Worley Jr. of Farmington picked up his second feature win of the season Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway in the Sprint car class. Worley was able to hold off Timmy Montgomery of Fredericktown for the win while Jimmy Hurley of Springfield, Ill. captured third place, Ricky Logan fourth and Joey Montgomery fifth. They were followed by rookie Tom Dickerman, Bryan Matthews, Keith Burch, Steve Short and Bob Thoman.
Jason Keith won the first heat with Logan second and Matthews third. Worley won the second heat with Hurley second and Dustin Adams third. Timmy Montgomery won the third heat with Dickerman second and Joey Montgomery third. Hurley won the trophy dash with Keith second and Logan third.
Joey Montgomery leads the Sprints in points with 272 followed by Worley Jr. (256), Timmy Montgomery (244), Keith (234) and Short (218).
In the Modified class, Kenny Kennedy of Farmington won his third feature of the season. Kasey Burch of Farmington settled for second place with Jeremy Greenwalt of Potosi third, Kasey Nations of Park Hills fourth and Tommy Worley Sr. of Farmington fifth. They were followed by David Shepard, Chris Boyd, Billy Smith, Kenny Harris and Leonard Betsch.
Kennedy won the first heat race with Burch second and Shepard third. Thompson won the second heat with Worley second and Boyd third. Nations won the third heat with Greenwalt second and Harris third.
Kennedy leads the Modifieds in points with 246 followed by Greenwalt (238), Thompson (232), Nations (232) and Worley (210).
In the Pure Street class, Mike Abney Jr. of Belgrade captured his third feature win of the season after hold back Mike Savage for the win. Chris Boyd of Park Hills grabbed third place with Bill Skaggs of Bismarck fourth and Rooster Griffin of Potosi fifth. They were followed by Josh DeSpain, Keith Kennon, Gary Henson, Josh Skaggs and Brian Henson.
Boyd won the first heat with Bill Skaggs second and DeSpain third. Savage won the second heat with Abney second and Henson third.
Abney leads the Pure Street class in points with 268 followed by Griffin (254), Bill Skaggs (234), Boyd (218) and Savage (196).
In the 600cc Multi class, Joey Boyd of Farmington won his second consecutive feature while Casey Barnhouse of Farmington was second, Brad Greer was third, Matt Dotson fourth and Andy Malpocker fifth. They were followed by Mark Shirshekan, Austin Brown, Brian Keen, Jason Cooper and Joe B. Miller.
Barnhouse won the first heat with Dotson second and Greer third. Boyd won the second heat with Rodney Williams second and Jimmy Stearns third.
Boyd leads the Multis in points with 258 followed by Barnhouse (222), Greer (210), Dotson (176) and Stearns (168).
The St. Francois County Raceway will feature one of the biggest sprint car shows in it's history when they host the inaugural 410 Summer Nationals on Friday and Saturday, May 26th and 27th.
Friday night during the sprint feature: Top four finishers are locked into Saturday night's $7,500 to win feature. Also top four win $100 and pit pass for Saturday.
Friday night's feature is $200 to start.

Also on Friday night, the IMCA style Modifieds and the Pure Streets will be racing. On Saturday night, the Modified feature is a $600 to win event with the 600cc Multis also racing that evening.

3rd Place...

Jeremy Greenwalt finished 3rd in the modified feature, not Brent Thompson. Brent was involved in an "altercation" during the race and finished in 17th position.
 
Thanks for noticing that.. On the sheet when they were crossing everything off while paying out they "X"ed off to the side. Since it didn't orginally say 18x I screwed up... LOL..
