at the track

At the KLM drivers meeting Sherry just talked sh**.

1. she stressed that the drivers need to be ready & the program needed to stay on time. HA HA Friday it was about 8pm when LM qualified. Sat wasnt as bad but still not close to being on time.

2. She said that if you didnt make hot laps they would go without you and that the track would then be closed. HA HA 3 LM missed the session and then 2 came out by themselves, then a single car came out and hot lapped.

3. She stated the the LM must weight 2300 NO LESS after racing. Quote "zero tolerance the scales were calibrated the day before" The 1cj was dq'd for being lite, putting him out of the big show, that put the 9car of Billy Drake in. Then Birky 15b in another consi weighted 2285, he was pushed back and came across again and still weighted lite so he came off the scale drove back around turn 1 and 2 spinning though the mud came back across the scale and weighted ok????

I personal went and talked to Sherry and told her everyone seen it and that Birky shouldnt be allowed to race that it was cheating to cross twice. That would have put Jimmy Owen in the 20 car in the big show. After mass confussion on what to do (Birky raced). THEY CHEATED THE #20 & the 1cj.

I personally have no respect for people who just talk the talk but dont walk the talk. Looks like things never change.

I kinda thought the 60.00 dollar two day pit passes were high too.Seems since they cant sell beer the fans have too pay for it. I have gone to the World the Dream and the DTWC and only pay 44.00 for a two day pass and if I recall they pay 38,000, 100,000 and 50,000 dont make much sense till you think about the lack of beer sales!!!!!!! But me and my dumbarse buddies bought them anyway to pass some time each day and check out the cars.

I am sure they made out ok. The 50/50 was pretty good also. Pretty good when you pay for a two day pass and they tell you that you need to leave the armband on for both nights. In order to shower we cut them off and taped them back on. Pretty cheezy if you ask me. Most tracks give a new armband when you turn in the first one, or put one on and give you the second night band. Oh well we go with the flow just because we love to go racing.

their scales are always messed up and i can't believe she is still using the line, they were just calibrated yesterday".If there were calibrated the day before then i am the president of the united states

I was at the Friday night drivers meeting and she spent every bit of 5 minutes talking about nothing but scaling out!!!! I wasn't the least bit surprised when Shaver was DQ'd. But when I heard about the Birky incident from Dirt who was listening to the radio traffic on the scanner it really surprised me. I didn't see the Birky incident. I do know that the last thing that was said about the incident on the radio was Sherry saying she was coming down to the pits to talk about it and from then on nothing more was said. Then come feature time here comes the 15B car out onto the track. I was really disappointed that she said the things she did then let things happen the was they did.

I was also confused about the hotlap situation. And whoever decided to qualify all three classes on Friday night needs to be kicked in the head!!!! Took 2 hours for qualifying!!!! Heat races didn't start till around 9:00 p.m.

I will say though that I was impressed with the racing! Lots of action in the heats and the consi races. Some might complain about the feature though. The track locked down as might be expected and it was nose to tail racing from lap 1 to lap 99. But what really impressed me was that all the cars that finished the race stayed on the lead lap! All the cars looked real equal and raced hard all the way through. Kept watching Moyer and Bloomer as they seemed to be the ones trying hard to move up! For a follow the leader race it was definately exciting for me anyway!

What does it matter if the scales were calibrated the day before or not,, they all go across the same scales to weigh,, thats why you check your car before you start your night of racing , to see where your at weight wise...as far as Birky if he was light he should have been on his way home like Shaver was...............

I agree! I don't recall any of the drivers going across the scales before hotlaps. The invitation was extended to them at the drivers meeting to go out at any time to scale. She stated they would be open for use all weekend long until Saturday night at midnight.

I just think it was really poor sportmanship for Birky to race knowing he didnt make the weight. He out and out took 2,000 from another driver. I no longer have any respect for him as a driver.
