O.K. I'm going to learn this set-up thing. Let's start with basics, I know little to nothing about set up. I am heading to the scales for the first time. Any suggestions for TCS? Give me an Idea of cross, rear %, left side%, How much weight on what tire, caster, camber, and any thing else I should try. i go in like a dream, but push like a pig coming out of the turns. I have had many people ask me about my riding height. How do I measure that, and what should it be? I have no money, so please do not suggest that I take it to a race shop and pay to have the car set up. Any help is apprieciated. Thanks, Tim

1.) If you dont have money, you should 'nt be racing.. That knocks about 50% of us out of the picture right there!! Now on to the important stuff. If someone is scaling your car, they should know the average %'s for cross, rear, etc. If not Dean Motsinger charges an average of 50-60 bucks for scaling, and front end setting.. His # is 573-756-9351 He's in Farmington, Mo. As far as %'s? 52-54 left side... 50-54 rear.... cross 52-55 ( thats a guess) I dont have my book in front of me. The Steve Smith chassis book $19 worth of very useful info. Buy it, and you wont have to ask these questions... If you cant afford it... Stay home one week and dont race!! Camber LS + 1-1 1/2 deg. RS - 2 1/2- 3 1/2 deg. caster ,I dont recall off the top of my head. Again, buy the book!! Available by having the local Walden, or Barnes and Noble order it for you. Its there in 3 days, and you go get it.

o.k. lets get this straight I asked for advise not insults. If all of us that were tight on money stoped racing, every track in the area would close. I put the no money comment in because every time I come here for advise, someone tries to sell me something. Most of it is junk. I know that speed shop are out to make money. One guy wanted me to spend around $3,000. You know new springs and shocks, different wheels, everything but paint. I wanted to her from real drivers, not out to make money. I've read over 20 books on set up, but none of them are aout TCS. Tracks don't just up and tell you what degree the banking is! The books are just nothelpful if you don't have scales and an alignment rack! Since you have so muck money, why not send a donation!

Tim, 1st of all; sorry about the insults. The first one was actually more of a joke. Half of us know there are weeks we can't afford it, but go to the track anyway. Now, if your shocks are relatively good, and the springs arent worn out, you should be in decent shape. Not feature winning shape, but decent. You should however pay an experienced racer to scale your car. I have heard TCS is a great track, but poorly run facility. I can associate that with our local track. Talk to racers who have a good set-up. Get some help on the major issues. Tweek the minor ones by trial, and error.
