Lebanon, Mo.-The racing action is sure to be fast and furious on the high banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway this Saturday night as the regular season will draw to a close.
Darrell Mooneyham will try to wrap up the point title; the veteran won the last point title before I-44 turned to asphalt in 1988. Lebanon’s own, and Late Model rookie Brian Schutt will try to close the gap and spoil Mooneyham’s party and take the track championship in only his first year in a Late Model and second year on dirt!
The modified battle is tight with Eric Hudson and defending champion Erik Maggard in a tight race. Maggard has been on a roll lately after having some tough luck earlier in the summer.
Larry Prewitt and Michael Maggard have basically wrapped up the Super Stock and Factory Stock titles. Prewitt has been dominant this year, winning his first 13 starts. Maggard has been Mr. Consistent in the Factory Stock class and also has several victories to his credit.
The closest points battle is in the always-exciting Bomber division. Justin Foust, KC Prettyman, Brandon Knutdson, David Hendrix and David Peterson are all very close. Foust and Prettyman have traded the point’s lead several times during the season, many times in consecutive weeks.
The points titles aren’t the only thing going on this weekend, many drivers will use this as the final tune up for the second annual Fall Shootout which will be storming into Lebanon on September 24th and 25th. The $10,000 to win Late Model race is sure to be one for the ages.
Don’t miss the exciting action this Saturday night at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with races starting at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
